David Baker didn’t start out writing casino reviews. His first years in the gambling industry were spent in casino security, where he later moved into management before working as a consultant. Games are another part of the job. David regularly works with slots, live blackjack, roulette, baccarat and other casino titles, comparing providers, rules, RTP figures and betting limits where that information is available. With live games in particular, small details matter. A blackjack table paying 3:2 is not the same proposition as one paying 6:5, just as single-zero and double-zero roulette shouldn’t be treated as equivalent games.

Canadian regulation also forms a large part of his work. That means distinguishing between casinos regulated for Ontario’s market and operators licensed through jurisdictions such as Kahnawake, Tobique, Curaçao or Anjouan rather than putting every “licensed casino” into the same category.

David’s approach to reviews is fairly simple: check the numbers, read the terms and separate what the casino advertises from what its rules actually say.
